Following the success of the inaugural 2012 event, Food & Bev Live 2014 will host up to 10 exciting food and drink skills competitions and over 50 brand leaders (including Avonmore, Bewleys, Bord Gais, Bunzl McLaughlin, Calor Gas, Churchill, Eco-labs, Edward Dillon, Hugh Jordan & Co., Marco Beverage Systems, Martin Food Equipment, Matthew Algie, McDonnell’s Menu Pages, Nisbets, Noel Recruitment, Pigsback.com, Proflame Solaris Botanicals, Steelite International plc and more), will exhibit their new products and promote special show offers only available on the day.
Pouring the spotlight on the cream of Irish talent in the industry, a series of National skills competitions will challenge individuals to scoop coveted national titles at the show such as The Irish Barista Championship and The National Cocktail Champion with the winners going on to compete further on behalf of their country for the international titles throughout the world.
Open to all bartenders working in Ireland, the National Cocktail competition is staged by the Bartenders Association of Ireland (BAI) and is sponsored by Edward Dillon & Co. Ltd. The winner of this competition will be crowned National Cocktail Champion 2014 and will represent Ireland at the World Cocktail Competition in Capetown, South Africa 29th Sept - 4th Oct 2014.
The Speciality Coffee Association of Europe will be hosting the finals of the Irish Barista Championship with the winner going on to compete in the World Barista Championships taking place at the SCAE World of Coffee in Rimini, Italy in June 2014. The semi-finals of this year’s Avonmore Irish Barista Championships and Latte Art Competitions were held in November and on 1st February 2014, 6 finalists will battle it out to secure the title of ‘National Barista Champion’.
On the chefs side, Sodexo Ireland will stage the very first “Sodexo Challenge @ F&B Live”. For the event, Sodexo Ireland has commissioned one of Ireland’s best-known chefs, Derry Clarke, to set a culinary challenge for selected members of the company’s 500-strong chef team called the Sodexo Chefs Challenge.
Organised by leading Industry body IFSA – new features have been developed to add to the buzz and excitement of the day including the Bunzl Innovation Pavilion. This hub will allow access to all industry professionals to avail of dedicated individual advice (face-to-face consultations), information and assistance in relation to training and skills (publications, programmes, qualifications) and the opportunity to gain access to new innovations and trends in the hospitality and foodservice industries
