ORGANISERS of some of the largest consumer and business-to-business events in Ireland, Malahide events company, Eventhaus, has launched the COVID-19 pledge for its forthcoming September events.
In a new way of doing business, EventHaus is galvanising support for The Wedding & Honeymoon Show and Vitality by asking potential exhibitors to sign up for the shows, simply by signing a free pledge.
Created in direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the current economic conditions, the pledge ensures that companies can secure their place at the events without the need for normal business commitments such as contracts and deposits.
“We appreciate that suppliers are cutting costs and planning for a very lean summer, therefore when thinking about our September industry events, we came up with the idea of the COVID-19 pledge which is based on intention and goodwill,” explains Garret Buckley, Managing Director of EventHaus.
The COVID-19 pledge has been welcomed across the board, and despite the current climate, in just under one week, approximately 15% of former exhibitors have pledged their commitment.
Continuing, Garret adds: “Our focus is on building the foundations for industries’ return and ensuring that our exhibitors and our events are well-placed for the upturn in business following the current pandemic.
“The Wedding & Honeymoon Show and Vitality both deliver real business for exhibitors. Attendance by companies often pays dividends in the months following the event, therefore we felt that this is the time, when now more than ever, that trust is the currency not Euro,” adds Garret.
EventHaus has negotiated with all its suppliers, including the support of major venues such as The RDS – an example of further goodwill and how the entire supply chain are working to help other businesses at this time of uncertainty.
Commenting on exhibitor feedback, Garret says: “Like almost every sector, the wedding industry has been devasted by COVID-19. Our September event often features exhibitors from abroad who are showcasing destination venues. One of the most touching pledges came from Neri Guicciardini, owner of Castello di Gargonza – a beautiful venue in Tuscany – with Neri pledging his support and hope that life and business returns to normal again.”
Operating in the Tuscan countryside for over almost 50 years, Castello di Gargonza is an historic hotel, located in a medieval hamlet. Neri Guicciardini, Owner and Event Manager at Castello di Gargonza adds:
“Life and business as we know it has been shattered in Italy. So many of my fellow countrymen and women have been affected by Coronavirus and our hospitals have been so much under stress. Our day to day life has changed and probably it will for the next months to come. The Wedding and Honeymoon show has been very good for our business over the years, we met lovely couples who chose Tuscany and Castello di Gargonza for their wedding.
“It has been a devastating time for us all, not just in Italy but across the globe, however we encouraged to hear news of the show and I was heartened to hear of the pledge. We fully support the pledge and pray that our Irish friends will too see the passing of Coronavirus and a return to normal business in September”
Vitality, set to take place on 26-27 September, is supported by Health Stores Ireland. Alan McGrath, National Organiser, Health Stores Ireland says: “Like many other essential retail and services sectors, Health Stores Ireland have endured a roller-coaster ride through the COVID-19 Crisis.
“We are delighted that EventHaus have stepped up to the mark with a pragmatic and practical approach to Vitality 2020, and in particular their ‘Vitality Pledge’ which enables suppliers to commit to the 2020 show without the upfront financial burden.”
Some of the other companies committed to the COVID-19 pledge include Bernie Kennelly Wedding Cake Specialist, Video Memories Media, the Westgrove Hotel and NameMe.ie.
Pledging their support for September’s Vitality Expo are Wholefoods – Ireland’s largest distributor of natural foods and healthcare products, Emma’s So Natural, Naturallife, Melon Gate, Natural Medicine Company, Haus Rabenhorst and EcoPlumb.
